If you're in the market for a toddler-to-booster car seat, the Safety 1st Summit Deluxe High-Back Booster Car Seat is a solid choice. It can be used as a forward-facing car seat with a five-point harness for children weighing 22 to 40 pounds. Once a child hits the 40-pound mark, it can be used as a belt-positioning booster for up to 100 pounds and the five-point harness can be removed. The belt-positioning guides are easy to use and secure both the car seat and the child. The harness has several shoulder-height adjustments that don't require one to rethread the harness. The harness has a two-piece chest clip we find easy to use. The Safety 1st Summit Deluxe High-Back Booster Car Seat has plenty of extras, including a three-position recline, a four-position headrest and pivoting armrests. There is a slide-out cup holder built into the base, and we find it accommodates large diameter cups. One feature we particularly like is the car seat's belt-positioning system. The Summit Deluxe has shoulder belt guides on each side of the seat, and the guides have five positions. This helps ensure a custom fit for children of varying heights.
